With baseboards, get longer screws and anchors
Derrick.2 years agoWe have a square banister on one side, and wall with baseboard on the other side. The straps for the banister work really well and hold the bar up really well. They do slip a bit over time so just need to check the tightness every now and then. Now onto the other side with my wall and baseboard. They provide spacers for the wall, however the screws provided are not that long so you will definitely want to get longer screws so it can go thru the bar and spacer, and then have enough to go deport into the wall. If screwing into drywall, you’ll need better anchors as well. The ones provided didn’t hold at all. I got anchors that were rated for 75lb and it’s been holding up well so far. The gate is easy to use with one hand while carrying our baby. Not that difficult to close and latch as well. We like the appearance. I would definitely recommend it if you are mounting this to banisters. If you are mounting to drywall, make sure to use better anchors. If you have baseboards, make sure to get longer screws.

Doesn’t work for every banister
Megan.2 years agoMy banister looks identical to the one on the box except we have a small piece of molding on the base. Throws off the connector so it leans. It has to sit on the floor and connector isn’t tall enough to reach other flat piece of banister. sending back

Missing parts
I called because missing parts, they said order a new one and she hung up on me.

The description doesn't mention that unless you have a studd across from your Banister you can't install it at the top of the stairs. This is actually a small note well into the installation instructions. I was unable to install at the top of my stairs and it was too narrow to put down the hallway.

This gate works perfect on our banisters. There’s nothing at the bottom to trip over, it opens and closes easily with one hand, it keeps our son off the stairs. Good purchase so far! Have had it for a month.
Excellent and easy to install
Simple install. Works great. My wife was a little put off by how hard you have to squeeze the handle to open it, but she got over it quickly. I had no trouble at all.

Awesome, versatile gate!
Super versatile gate. We have two of these. One at the bottom of the stairs between the posts and one at the top of the stairs between a post and the wall.

This gate is great. We have stair banisters that’s aren’t evenly across. The way the gate is designed it works just fine with it. Very easy to open. Highly recommend

Keep todder from going up, and gate is strong
Strap system is unreliable. Unusable in 3 months
Installed 3 months ago. Strap system is flimsy. Works well for 1-2 days then needs constant tightening. As of now, completely unusable. Only gave two stars as it may be good for low traffic areas. Definitely not good for main stairway

This gate is an exceptional gate and easy to install. My little guy is not able to climb or open it.
Cheaply made
While functional and very sturdy, the gate we received was only painted gray on one side. The other side looks like perhaps the machine ran out of paint and just sprayed a tiny amount. I plan to reach out to the company about this. It can be difficult to get the bottom part lined up with the top locking mechanism, but it is manageable. The gate itself was simple enough to install though.
Just what we needed
We looked everywhere online for a baby gate that would work with banisters and no walls - we were a little worried, as we have thin metal banisters (not wooden ones like pictures) but this gate fits great! A little pricey, but it's worth it!!

Very narrow passage.
This gate would be perfect for my staircase and my needs. But when I tried to install it, I realized that the gate fits the measurements but the passage is very narrow! Impossible for an adult to pass. I was very frustrated. I'll have to return
