I love this more than I thought I would. It's spongy enough to absorb the occasional uncordinated rollover, but also gives enough grip to allow my son to push-off. We struggled with general activity mats because of the texture. We add more tiles to it when we want and it's also easy to clean!

My son is allergic to carpet so I bought this at the store one day just to try it out. It goes together easy but it slides all around on top of carpet or wood floors because the bottom is soft and smooth and the top is rough. It's good if you need a quick flat surface but the edges pull off and my son winds up sucking on them and pulling them off and then falls on the uneven puzzle type edges. I spend more time trying to keep it in the spot I need it in then he actually gets to play on it. If you can spend the extra money get the bigger activity play mats.
