I was a C-Section Mama so my milk did not come in as soon as I would have liked. The hospital let me borrow the Medela Symphony 2.0 to help my supply. It worked great since it was hospital grade/closed system, but it was huge and heavy to move around. It also didn't allow me to customize cycle and suction. I had done my research on what pump to purchase after my rental had to be returned and had my heart set on the Spectra S1. It wasn't covered by my insurance so I had to purchase it so that's why I am so happy that buybuy Baby started carrying this pump. I was able to use a 20% off coupon on it which made the price more reasonable! Coupon or not, this pump is worth every penny. It's light weight, hospital grade, and closed system. Cycle and vacuum can be adjusted so I am able to mimic how my baby feeds. Plus it runs plugged in or by battery which is SO useful when you aren't close to an electrical outlet. It also lets me be more mobile while pumping since I can just pick it up and move if I need to without having to unplug or detach. I was even able to pump while on a roadtrip. The motor is quiet and the nightlight is great for late night sessions. I also love that there is a timer. It shuts off automatically after 30 mins, but the timer lets me stay on track with the recommended 10-15 minute sessions or if I forget to set my own timer. Pump parts are also easy to clean. Their parts aren't as readily available as Medela, but bottles like the Philips Avent fit the flanges and serve as collection bottles. You can also buy adapters to fit Medela parts to the pump. LOVE LOVE LOVE this pump. It's made the exhausting process of pumping so much better!
I really loved this pump, especially the fact that I could walk around with it. But it broke after less than 3 weeks of use. My newborn is unable to breast feed, so I have been exclusively pumping and it was essential I get a working pump ASAP. When I called for help, no one tried to troubleshoot with me but I was offered a replacement that I was told would arrive in two days. So I had to rent a pump until it arrived. I didn't receive it three days later and contacted the company. They hadn't actually sent it. There was no rush order or apology. And it was supposed to arrive yesterday and I still haven't gotten it, so it's been a week. So in conclusion: great design, but stopped working after short term of use, horrible customer service.

Love this pump! Got myself a medela pump in style from insurance which was not emptying me and ended up in repeated clogged ducts. Decided to get this one while it was on sale! No regrets at all! I wish I knew how good this one was earlier. Nice settings, portable, light weight, easy to use and empties you completely!
This is a solid pump. It works well and has strong suction. It’s great that the s1 (compared to s2) has a battery and can detach from the wall to take from living room, to nursery, to bedroom if you need to. Holds charge for a long time. Make sure you are measured for correct sizes flanges (many women try to use incorrect size which can cause pain, chaffing, or poor output). Overall recommend this pump as your primary home pump, especially for us in the first 4-6wks.

Its portable, has different strengths of suction, and has a nightlight. I use it at home and in the car whenever we travel. It can be plugged in or charged and used without the plug. It should come with an additional set of flanges.
I have used almost every pump on the market. From the medela pump in style, to the hospital grade medela symphony, motif Luna, mom cozy, willow on the go, etc and this is by far my favorite. It is the most comfortable but gets the job done! The battery life is amazing and it will last up to 2 days with me exclusively pumping every 3 hours. I recommend this pump to everyone.
I am in love with my spectra s1. I bought it on my own after my insurance-covered Medela pump in style maxflow was not emptying me and I am so glad I spent the money. Its portability is life saving but most importantly it has increased my output by 1-4 oz per session and my daily clogged ducts are gone! If you measure smaller, look up maymom's hard flanges, they make a huge difference in the output and pumping comfort.
