I purchased this harness in preparation for a trip knowing my very mobile toddler would want to run around but need to stay close to be safe. I love that the harness doubles as a backpack and doesn’t scream “kid leash!” It will take some learning for my kiddo to get used to walking with it on. She’s not used to being restrained from walking wherever she wants, so she just plops to the floor when there is resistance. But the harness certainly serves its function for safety. The detachable parent handle is the perfect length and I love that I can remove it or stuff it in the side pocket when not in use. And BONUS: the backpack is so handy! I love that we can fit a snack, a cup, and/or small toys or activities in there! It’s the perfect size to carry a few necessities and fit comfortably on my petite 16 month old’s back (the adjustable length of the clasp in the front helps with that and will allow us to continue to use it as she grows!). I can see us using the bag for dropping off at the church nursery and things like that without handing over the entire diaper bag. Also, the design of the bag is as good as we have come to expect from Skip Hop! I love the simple, yet playful animal design (we got the owl!) and the quality of the materials is great! Nothing about it feels cheap. Very happy with the price point for such a cute, well-made, and useful product!
The leash attaches to the bottom of the backpack instead which makes it hard to use. When my daughter is going the wrong direction, the leash doesn’t do it’s job because when she runs out of slack, it’s attached to the bottom of the backpack so it makes her fall down. I wish it was attached at the top, so I could use the backpack for the reason I purchased it. But the butterfly design is beautiful and I still think it’s a cute backpack for my daughter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it for my 6 months old, to use on summer days. Happy I bought it, its cute and has a detachable hardness when he starts to walk. I just thought it would be a little bit bigger than how it is. It looks appropriate size for a six month old. Anyway I still recommend it!

I picked this up for my neice's little girl and it's so perfect she loves the butterfly and it's a very handy little bag and the harness is perfect you can never be too safe especially these days!
