Finally! A diaper pail that doesn’t require the overpriced refills! You can use whatever kitchen bags you normally buy because this diaper pail has a “trap” door that locks in the smell as you use it. It has a touch release on the pail - put diaper in, close lid, press to release it into the bag = no smell!! Very study, sleek style - space saver without sacrificing the details. Great, well thought out storage. Well made and worth it. I highly recommended. Definately a registry MUST.
Well, I wanted to love this diaper pail. And I did... until my baby was born and we actually started to use it! While it is slim and looks great in the nursery, actually using the product brought about some major concerns. The first, and biggest, being the fact that it doesn't trap any stinky diaper odor AT ALL. Isn't that why you buy a diaper pail?! I checked to make sure the trap door wasn't caught on something and sealed the way it is supposed to, and even when it is properly sealed, the product fails to contain the smell. It's gotten to the point where simple walking into the nursery warrants needing a gas mask! I have changed the bag a few times now and noticed that the pail itself also holds onto stinky diaper smells, despite it being metal... I'm baffled! The second concern is that it doesn't seem to hold all that many diapers (even newborn size). I do really like how the wipes container (sold separately) fits on the pail. The aesthetic look of the product is great (hence 2 stars instead of the 1 star it probably deserves), but it's just a big fail for containing the smell.

I bought this pail a little over two years ago when I was expecting my last baby. We had a small nursery and I needed a compact pail that fit in the very narrow space between the changing station and the wall. I haven't had a single issue with smells - in fact, when we moved last month, the pail was inadvertently put into storage with a nearly-full bag of diapers. It was in there for two weeks and there was absolutely no smell. I didn't even know there were diapers in it till I went to put a new diaper in it and saw them! The storage caddy is helpful, if slightly inconvenient to have to remove when it's time to change the bag. The only significant downside is that there is some wasted space in the bag because there has to be room for the second airlock door to drop down. This is a design feature that could be improved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this diaper pail 2 years ago for our first child and have loved it. It works well and does a good job of keeping odors locked away inside (just hold your breath for a few seconds when you “flush” the diaper down). We got another pail for our second child and that one stopped latching for some reason after a week… very annoying. After a waiting few weeks, customer service got back to me and did issue a credit for a new pail. This one is working better but the part that drops the diapers doesn’t go all the way perpendicular so sometimes the diaper gets stuck there. I found if I hold the button down it is more likely to drop on down and the times I have to open it up to manually push the diaper through are few and far between. So… I guess I’d still recommend this pail, but be aware you may encounter technical difficulties. In general we have to empty the pail about once a week. Sometimes after 5-6 days. I do love that you can use normal trash bags.

This thing does not contain the smell at all. We got this when the diaper genie broke, and I regret it. Diapers constantly get stuck on the trap door. My baby's in size 3 diapers now, so they're not that big either. Nothing I've tried will contain the smell. I highly suggest just getting the diaper genie.

My sister highly recommended this diaper pail and I had high hopes for it. Unfortunately I have grown to despise it. The whole purpose of this is so that you have the button to release the diaper down into the bag. Well it doesn’t do its job and the diapers get stuck on the hatch and I have to manually shove them down past the hatch or try pushing the button an insane amount of times hoping the diaper will drop down. It ends up causing so much frustration and I wish I would have just went with a diaper genie. I have that in my living room changing station area and it works much better and causes no issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this diaper pail for a few reasons. I love that it can use regular trash bags, it doesn't seem to have problems with condensation like a other brands I looked at and I like the idea of the air lock. I'm thinking I may have issues with the latch that let's the diapers drop down as it doesn't open very wide at all which may be annoying once baby is using bigger diapers. I have ready in other reviews that some people have been able to fix that problem. I'm not sure how they did it but I plan to try.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to return mine due to recovering a clearly used product. Still waiting on my reimbursement actually. But I went to a third party store and bought a new one in box, even opened it and checked it out and everything was good. My son isn’t born yet but upon reading other comments and doing some scent tests at home I could see why bigger diapers probably don’t go down the Shute. That said I think it’s an okay product it looks really nice, when it does work as intended it’s great and it’s light enough to carry easily. I also really like the storage tray I keep things inside of it ranging from disposal bags for diapers to cleaning wipes to wipe down the product. It’s fairly important id say to anyone buying this that it is a trash can for poop and in that you do have to change the liner. I don’t think there’s any product on the market that will make poop not smell bad or not be poop. We put a air freshener pod in ours and the scent issue wasn’t an issue for us. I would recommend it but hopefully the company doesn’t mess up your shipping like me. Thanks

I received this diaper pail as a baby shower gift from my list however the durability is a 2/5 rating and does not lock in the smell as advertised however it is easy to clean. You will need at the least an 8 gallon diaper/trash bag. I am writing this review after almost a year of use and the top just popped off completely, in an attempt to toss out the diaper bag that was halfway full.
