Philips Avent Electric Single Breast Pump in White

I made the mistake of selecting a crappy pump through my insurance which led me to believe I had low milk supply. I decided to see if Philips advent had a pump because I've cared for several babies that have only taken Philips bottles and pacifiers so I already had a positive experience with the brand. Well, I breast fed my baby and still pumped 4oz in 15minutes with this pump. I'm so happy.

I have been using this product for 2 months, multiple times a day. It has a good suction power. The parts are easy to clean and assemble. The motor is not very noisy but at night, it can still be pretty loud. It is great that you can choose the desired level of suction power. On the other hand, I still have to lean forward when pumping, otherwise the milk is leaking or been collected on the silicone cushion. Also, the pump is not very much compatible with the glass Avent bottles as again, they leak when you slide the bottle even a little bit. In 2 months, the pump stopped working 5-6 times in the middle of pumping. It started to work again when I plugged it out and in. Lastly, it would be better if it would also work with batteries.

I was I initially surprised at the size of it and wasn’t sure it would work. I ended up loving it. The one downside is how many parts you have to wash. Super inconvenient especially in the middle of the night.

I noticed adequate output but nothing remarkable compared to my current pump. It was fairly compact and easy to take on the go which was a nice benefit. I received this pump from Stellar Product Panel but these opinions are 100% my own. I am exclusively breastfeeding my 5 month old but decided to try to pump occasionally to have milk in case baby needed to be with family and needed to take a bottle. I've used many pumps in the past, as this is our 6th kiddo. I love how small this pump is. It's so easy to toss all the components into the diaper bag and be ready to go. It's convenient because I don't need a separate bag just for breast pump and parts. It is pretty quiet, but I use my breast pump at the highest and fastest section most times so to me it didn't seem any more quiet than the pumps that I have previously used. One major drawback is the charging port for this pump, many phones and tablets have switched over to a universal charging port but this pump takes a specific cord. Not a deal-breaker but definitely a little bit frustrating as it would be so much more simple to have a universal charging port. I've only used double breast pumps up until this point so I don't know if my experience with the single breast pump is because I'm just not used to pumping one breast at a time. I tried to use the pump a few different times and I was not able to get any milk out of my breast. I even hooked up a pump that I had received from my insurance company and I was able to get milk out, and then switched over and tried the single pump again and I was not able to get any more than a couple drops. I took the components apart and made sure that everything was properly put together and it was. My guess is that some women just don't respond very well to a single pump. I'm also a breastfeeding mom that feeds from both breasts each time baby nurses, so the option of pumping on one side while baby nurses from the other does not work for us. It would also take up too much time for me to pump on one side and then switch over and pump from the other side when I could just use a double pump and save myself a headache. Overall I feel like this is an excellent pump for moms who just need a single pump, but as for me I'll stick with my double pump.

I am a mom of three and have nursed and pumped with each one so I have some experience with a number of pumps. The Philips Avent Single Electric Breast Pump Advanced, With Natural Motion Technology has surprised me. It’s SUPER light weight but still has enough output to keep up with some of my double pumps. I was able to increase my supply slightly just by adding a pump session while nursing the other side. That being said, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this single pump over a double if you are strictly pumping. The size is compact enough where it can sit on my couch end table and barely be noticed. Since it is light and small I can literally pack it up in a small tote and take it where I need to. Only thing is that there is no battery. You will be tethered to a wall socket. There are a number of parts for the pump attachment but all in all it doesn’t seem like much since it’s only one set. If that makes sense. It is a “closed system” where the milk cannot go up the tubes so the extra parts are definitely worth it. The greatest part is the adaptable silicone cushion. I was able to pump easily with no pinching or repositioning and comfortably even on the highest setting. I’m hoping that this becomes the new normal. It’s a game changer. The silicone tubing is a great change as well. I’m not worried about creasing, twisting or tearing as much. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Avent Single Electric Breast Pump Advanced is an amazing little pump! I was shocked at how small and lightweight it is, yet very powerful! I am able to take it on the go in a much smaller tote than my normal, clunky pump bag. I can see why they call it "natural motion technology" because it really does feel very similar to my baby nursing- it is effective yet gentle. It was so nice not having to worry about flange size or inserts- it just adapts and works with whatever size you are! I also tried it with my in-bra cups while on the go, and it worked quite well. This was a nice "hack" to be able to pump both sides at once, though I'm sure it wasn't quite as effective as just doing one side at a time with the flange it comes with. It would be a great pump for mommas who like to pump on one side while nursing on the other! Because it is so powerful, and enclosed in such a small, lightweight case (less to muffle it), it is a smidge on the louder side, but not any louder than some of the more common full-size "wall" pumps. If I tuck in into or under something, it's hardly noticeable. And they put soft rubber strips on the bottom, so it doesn't vibrate against the table or whatever surface you have it on. Smart! With the size, power, various settings, and easy, comfortable fit, this pump is very well designed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really liked the small size of this pump. It made it easy to slip into a large purse or the diaper bag. It would be very convenient for those that need to regularly take a pump with them. It is a little louder than other pumps I have used but it wasn't to terrible. The suction was pretty standard. My favorite feature of this pump is how the parts twist on. It feels sturdier than other pumps where the flanges just push on. With this one there is no chance of the flange unexpectedly falling off and dropping tha bottle full of milk.. I really liked the feel of the silicone cushions. I was hoping they would work well for me but the one size just did'nt work for me. It was way to large for my nipples. If these came in a smaller size I would definetely buy them. I use 15-17mm flanges. for those that use larger flanges this will probaby work amazingly for you.
