No mess and looks awesome comes with everything you need. You dont get any ink on your babies foot or hand and even though its a single use product gives you enough ink to get 3 pretty good prints from it. I did 2 on card stock and one as signature in my wifes card. Just make sure you have your babies foot straight dont let them curl it before you put it on the ink pad.

Used the same thing in pink for my daughter. Bought two because you usually need a practice run and the link and blue don’t seem to go as far as the black pad. Took away a star because upon use the ink pad itself ripped. For what it is I like it!
This product is good. The ink is easy to apply and doesn't mess baby's feet. It however smears a little even after drying
