I love how easy is to put it in the uppababy stroller, however DO NOT buy in any other fabric than the blue one (Henry) all the other fabrics makes the baby sweat. I got it in black originally and had to exchange it as my baby would cry everytime I buckle her on it. after exchanging it and paying the $50 more (very worth it) now she loves it and we can go on car rides without a problem
We recently purchased the Vista stroller and decided to get the Mesa car seat because of the convenience of the set. The stroller is fantastic. The car seat, not so much. Good parts: The base is the easy to install. The gray wool color looks even better in person. It fits on the Vista without much hassle. The good ends there. My issues: It’s not light. I could get over the weight if the seat was awesome, but it’s not. The wool fabric balls up easily. The bottom buckle is really hard to get undone. The metal buckle pieces have to be pulled out while pushing in the red button (rather hard)—they don’t just pop out once the button is pushed like other brands. The canopy is AWFUL. You can’t carry the car seat on your arm with the canopy extended. Plus, it hardly extends to begin with. Full extension is barely half of the car seat. Our baby always has the sun in his eyes or is being rained on. The canopy is made out of cheap-looking, very thin fabric with hard plastic running through the underside (not even covered by fabric). It serves zero purpose and looks VERY cheap compared to the rest of the car seat. We have to use a blanket to cover the baby and only extend the canopy to cover 1/4 of the car seat while being carried. My biggest issue is the lack of head support for newborns. I’ve tried everything and our poor baby’s head is always slumped to the side. It looks painful at times because his neck is bent so severe. I end up using rolled blankets to keep his head somewhat upright. The head slump and neck issues are what prompted me to seek a return. That part is not safe and is a major design issue. This is our 4th child. We have owned 10+ seats from multiple brands (Chicco, Diono, Britax, Graco, Evenflo, etc...) I’ve never had this many complaints about a car seat. Especially one that costs this much. Buybuybaby’s customer service was even more underwhelming when I called to inquire regarding a return. The representative I spoke to had very little to say other than, “We do not take returns on opened items. Call the manufacturer.” She was zero help and rather short/snippy. The return policy is a bit misleading because we have a receipt and the registry return policy states 365 days. We are WELL within the return period (our baby is only a few weeks old). Being such a large retailer, they can err of the side of the customer and take the return—Money lost, customer gained. They chose the “it’s not our problem” attitude, which means they lost all of our future business.

This seat was so easy to install and is easy to get in out of the car, and attach to the stroller. Padding on the seat is comfortable and keeps our baby cozy without being too hot. The straps are tight, but not in a way that hurts the baby. I felt very safe and confident putting my newborn in this seat!
This is a great car seat. Easy to install with great safety features. We are very happy with it

Love this car seat! Everything is adjustable without having to remove the straps, installation took less than 5 minutes and it’s super secure and sturdy. I bought a “cheaper” car seat with my first and she was always so uncomfortable and I felt so bad once I saw the quality that Uppababy was delivering. Will definitely buy again if needed

This car seat is beyond over priced for what it does. The biggest complaint is the fabric quality. I purchased the black one (Jake) and I regret ignoring the reviews. The fabric does in fact make my baby sweat so much and become extremely fussy. I purchased the uppababy vista and decided to go with this car seat to make my mom life easier (instead of caring extra tools to make my stroller compatible with other car seats) and regret it. Stay away from this car seat because it truly is not worth the price!!!

Pros : easy to use with the uppababy vista stroller, car seat base is nice and can also be used with seatbelts if in an older car | Cons: the canopy is the worst, I’m surprised there aren’t more complaints. Canopy is a very thin material and doesn’t even cover half the car seat. No matter what my baby’s eyes/body are constantly exposed to the sun. My baby also seems to sweat a lot in the car seat as well. You can’t have the shade the whole way up if you are carrying the car seat. The seat is heavy it’s almost 10 lbs so as your baby gets more heavy it will be challenging to carry…. I love the stroller and how easy the items are to use together but the canopy would prevent me from purchasing.

Worth the investment! Baby feels very secure and comfortable, the ease of installing the base and arranging the height level and straps is a dream. Very easy to clean too. So glad I bought it

The canopy is extremely thin that the sun bleeds through. I read the reviews and figured they exaggerated some;however, they did not. The fabric is horrible and dies in fact make baby hot and sweaty within minutes. Baby hates it and is drenched! Only perk that pushed me to buy this item was that it went with the stroller.. today, I regret it !!!

This is a great car seat and Uppa Baby sells the adapters for the older Vista frames. I still had an older Vista in great condition from 2013. Replaced the wheels, etc and bought this car seat. Set up looks brand new.
