It is not discreet, but I am using it to wear at home. It is however deep enough to not cause my nipples to hit the other side. I am 50-50 on this. I also have the medela soft shells. I alternate between them.

These helped out a lot in the beginning of breastfeeding. You put them around your nipple inside your bra and they do a number of things for you - they keep your nipple dry to improve healing and reduce infection, they guard your nipple from touching any fabric and they collect leaking milk (and do a good job of not spilling it - you can Use the milk it collects to put on your nipple as an additional antibiotic in addition to lanolin cream).
Works well for sore nipples but a bit awkward to wear and if you leak a lot during feedings you need to be careful with spilling. Pads don’t catch all of it.

I just had my daughter seven years after my youngest and I remember how helpful this product was with my previous pregnancies. If it wasn’t for the relief of this product, I probably would not have opted to breastfeed. This product was the only thing that helped bring me the relief I needed to keep going!

Love these! I bought them to prevent my bra from rubbing my sore nipples, but they actually helped my baby get a good latch too! I don't have flat or inverted nipples, but my breasts were so engorged it was hard for my baby to latch. The shells are not ideal for wear out in public as they're not real discrete, but they're so great for the first few weeks leaning to breastfeed. Wish I had ordered them sooner!

These are great for the "in-between time." Right after nursing or pumping, I would put lanolin on and then pop these cups on in order to keep my nipples from being pressed against my bra. The holes allow them to breathe, giving them a chance to heal. If you are going to wear them out and about, I highly recommend wearing a nursing pad on the outside of them, just in case you have a let down from your baby crying and all of a sudden the cups are full and milk is coming through the holes - can you tell this happened to me? Ha!
