I’ve been exclusively pumping for 15 weeks and have used this pump since coming home from the hospital. I also have a Spectra S1 and the Elvie. This is my favorite pump by far and is great. It gets out as much milk as the Spectra and more than the Elvie. It’s easy to set up and the parts are easy to clean. It’s the best, but could still be much better. The size is just a bit big; with how women’s clothing is there’s no way it’s going in your pocket. I loop it around my wrist and have considered a Fanny pack. The connectors are heavy and are finicky about any bottles besides Medela, even Dr. Brown’s that will fit on the symphony pump connectors without an issue. The Kiinde connectors will work, though. If you lean forward too far, milk can spill out of the connectors. Also, the screen is very sensitive. . . except when it’s not. If it happens to fit in the pocket of your oversized sweatpants, it will change settings as you walk and it bounces against your leg. Other times (rarely for me,) the screen will become unresponsive and you will have to turn the pump off to get it to work again. If Medela could reduce the size of the pump, use physical buttons, and make the connectors leakproof then this pump would really be a game changer.

The only good thing about this pump is that it can take some milk out. I have used multiple pumps in the past 15 years and this one takes less milk out in a longer amount of time than every one I have used before. It is not as easily portable as it looks. The wrist strap doesn’t help at all. I cannot get anything done while carrying it around. The unit itself is too heavy and bulky to put in any pocket on anything I ever wear. I would have to put it in a cross-body purse to actually be able to carry it around easily. The pieces that connect into the bottles are heavy and drag the bottles down below my waist (I am bigger breasted as it is and the way the bottles sit on me makes it very awkward to get anything else done while pumping). I basically have to sit down and stay in one spot to use it instead of being able to be mobile. The pump itself vibrates terribly while in use. It vibrates the bottles and tubing as well. I read reviews and got tons of info about this pump before I bought it but nowhere did I get the full story of what a piece of junk this pump is.

I just purchased the product and used twice. Both times the strength of suction is different from each pumps. I don’t know if the connector has a problem or tube or something else. Since the actual strength of suction is different, the amount of milk expressed is very different as well.
We got in June this year, and I started using it at the end of August. It was great at first, but now it can barely hold charge, the screen becomes unresponsive throughout the day, and the suction gets very weak after a session with a full charge. we thought spending a little more on a pump would avoid all these issues.

It’s great on the go and when doing things around the house I can still pump. The suction on it is amazing!

Pump worked great for about four weeks, then won’t hold a charge, screen is unresponsive, and suction strength ramps randomly. I’ve used it as instructed 8-10 times a day. Customer service was unable to resolve the issue. Would not recommend for exclusive pumpers.

I am a third time mom who works full time and has nursed/breast milk fed my babies for 15 months the past two times. I used the Medela Freestyle pump for my last two babies and was excited about the Freestyle Flex pump until I actually started to use it. The biggest bummers about the upgrade/change in style is that the pump itself doesn’t have a clip for my pant waist, only a string. This means the pump has to hang off my arm as k go around the house, putting away laundry, unloading the dishwasher, and wrangling my three kids. In the process, the unfortunately very sensitive touchscreen gets tapped by my hip and paused over and over again. It’s really inconvenient and annoying. Additionally, the new pump parts don’t “click” into place like they used to do it never feels like the parts are quite sealed and I’m always trying to push them together. I have several sets so I don’t think it’s one bad set. The one thing I do like about the upgrade is the cup/flange have a softer rubber/ edge than the previous style. Additionally, the battery does not last nearly as long as the previous Freestyle version. Over all, as a third time breastfeeding/pumping mom, I’m not impressed and miss my old reliable pump that allowed me to not only successfully nurse my babies for up to 15 months, but to also donate hundreds of ounces of breast milk each pregnancy.

I was excited to purchase this pump because I love the Medela brand. This pump is easy to use, I love that I can move around and do things while pumping. It started out with good suction when pumping both breasts at once; about 2-3 months after purchasing the pump, I noticed that the suction wasn’t as strong when pumping both breasts at a time. I’ve had to start unilateral pumping, which is of course more time consuming. The buttons are super sensitive, so you have to be careful with movement because the slightest touch will change your pump speed or pause your pumping session. This pump has a great battery life, which I appreciate since I sometimes forget to put it in the charger when pumping in a different room.

Purchased this and it only lasted me 5 days of pumping. The screen won’t work anymore and I’m stuck with no pump and need to go out to purchase another one until customer service gets back to me. The screen just stopped working mid pump. Happened three times I was able to charge it and it would work again and then it just completely stopped. Completely disappointed and as a new mom the stress of having to now go out and find a replacement is even more frustrating.

I purchased one a couple years ago and it worked great until about 6 months of having it, it just stopped working and never turned back on. I tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. Well here I am, two years later and bought this one again due to the fact that my Elvie pump doesn’t completely empty me like this one does. I have had it about 2 weeks and once again the pump is ALREADY having problems! It freezes A LOT and won’t go back on unless you plug in and out of the charger. It’s been on the charger for couples hour before just to find out that it wasn’t even charging! I’m so sick of these pumps not working correctly for the amount of money we invest in. I’m an exclusive pumping mother and it’s critical to me when I have ongoing issues!!
