The idea is great, but the design is flawed. The right hand hinge of the seat is metallic and the hinge is plastic. Just like the other reviewer's photo, the plastic hinge broke off in less than one year. BBB did not allow any returns after 30 days, so I had to contact the manufacturer who did end up replacing it after a few weeks lead time. The replacement also broke in the exact same way after about 2 years.
We love this toilet. It’s the most sensible thing to use for potty training, we’ve used them throughput our house thru two children. Really, there is nothing else like it. The design is aces. But it couldn’t be more poorly constructed. We bought another set for our new house last week and the small seat hinges broke ON INSTALLATION. We were heartbroken. Truly, they need to revisit this in the production. Otherwise, it’s the greatest product ever!

My tushy feels nice when me do me poops on this seat
This is a high quality product. The two best features are the magnetic holder for the child seat so an adult does not have to continually push it up into the lid and the whisper quiet close.
So, I read the reviews about being shipped the round toilet seat instead of the elongated one. I brushed the reviews off thinking those were isolated shipping errors. NOPE! I ordered the elongated seat but received the round one. I’ve been on hold with BBB for over an hour waiting for a live voice. This is ridiculous...all for a toilet seat. Come on, BBB, get it together.
This is the only seat that I found on the market that does exactly this. It is a fantastic idea and easy for a toddler to use. The magnet is a great idea, too. BUT it broke on me twice. The first one arrived with the magnet already popped out and so I returned it. the second one, lasted less then a year and the joints on the back just broke. No one in our family is in any way over weight and no one stands on the toilet. There is no reason it should have broke. And with no warning. One day it was loose, and the following day the joints broke in 3 places. Odd. And now I will be ordering a 3rd one because I need it and know of no other alternative. BUT this is not made well AT ALL>.
