KidCo® Door Lever Lock in White

We got this primarily for the cat as he knows how to open doors and wanted him to get out of the habit. He was very stunned at this product when he could no longer open the doo to the basement. Will def get more to cat proof the bathrooms, pantry and other rooms and hopefully this will be child proof in the future

My 21 month old quickly figured out how to pull the ‘lock’ mechanism off so that he can continue escaping into our garage. I love the concept of opening the door from the other side, but the materials aren’t durable.

It is indeed the only door lever lock I could find that allows the door to be opened from the other side, like from our garage into the hallway - a major route in our house. But... It took our 20 month old less than a week to rip it off. It is very ungainly to use and we couldn't get it to consistently maintain the connection with the upper latch even after taping that to the door. I'm not very handy; but it ended up being easier to replace the lever with a round knob and using those round safety caps. That definitely works He can only spin the caps.

We didn't fee this would work for us. We felt our granddaughter would figure out how to open the door.

Have had terrible experience with quality control lately at Bed Bath and Beyond.

My 2 year old INSTANTLY figured out that if he pulled hard enough it would unlock. The locking mechanism is super weak. Not toddler proof AT ALL

Very good lock for lever handles if the ability to open the door from one side is preferred. However doesn’t fit lever handles that leaves a gap between the top part of the lock and the part of the door or handle underneath it. the top part of the lock has to be glued to the surface underneath it. Works for lever handles with smaller metal surrounding the keyhole.

Did not work - we Installed correctly and it just didn’t work as a child proofing handle. He was able to open it
