KidCO Auto Close HearthGate in Black

We got this to keep our daughter safe and away from our pellet stove. It does the job well. We’re still able to easily fill the pellets and the door on the front of the gate allows us access to clean the pellet stove as needed.

The gate is fairly sturdy and can prevent my toddler from getting near the fireplace. Unfortunately, when it arrived two of the pieces were broken and I had to call the company and they eventually agreed to replace the broken parts.

My gate came in damaged and the boxes it was packaged in looked as though the item was returned /used prior. The gate bracket was broken that attaches to each pole. Returning.

I wanted to protect my fireplace and it works good from my toddler. He does shake the bars which makes me nervous but haven't had a problem and it's been a year.

We bought the fence/gate for our deck to keep our puppy away from our new deck furniture. By the time the fence arrived it's been no issue with our puppy but he was chewing our little apple tree in the backyard. So... I put the fence together around the tree and it works great. I hope it lasts through the winter outside. It's such a nice fence that we ordered another last night (18/12/14). It should be here around Christmas or the new year. We will put this one together on the deck for sure. It was also very easy to put together and all the parts were in the well packed box. Very nice item.

Do not waste your money on this gate. I ordered this gate to keep our toddler away from our fireplace as we love our other kid co retractable gate used in our doorway. When it arrived 4 of the 8 joints were already broken. I called and received a replacement which also came in damaged and had 2 broken joints. We decided to keep this one as there was not a solution offered to replace without continuing to wait. As our 18 month old was touching the gate the entire thing fell apart in 3 different places. It's hard to keep her away from the fireplace when the gate falls apart.

This gate works perfect for keeping our kids away from the fire place.

Well made, heavy gate. Easy to open/close. We already have an older version of this same gate around our hearth. We put this one around our piano. Used our BBandB Coupon for a great deal!
