I was a bit skeptical about buying this travel bag after reading all of the previous reviews. I am so glad I went ahead and made the purchase (I figured I may be throwing it away after one or two uses). Note: This bag is a thin nylon (think camping gear). It really isn't made to be checked any place other than at the gate. My bag has come back with no signs of damage, let alone tears. It folds up into its own bag feature that is built in, so you don't have to worry about losing it (and it's compact). Even the gate agents have commented on how handy it is. It definitely serves its purpose to protect your car seat and it's price point is substantially less than other more "durable" (AKA bulky) travel bags. I would highly suggest this product!
My husband and I purchased this, confident it would protect our car seat checked at the gate. What a mistake! By the time we got it back after only the first leg of our flight it was completely shredded and the inside of our brand new $400 car seat was not only scuffed with a long black line the padding itself was punctured and ripped. This thing is so thin and flimsy and shreds easily. I only wish someone else had reviewed this sooner and given me the same advice. We purchased a padded backpack style car seat bag after this episode from buy buy baby and have been extremely pleased.

The airline luggage handlers must have been particularly rough, but this bag ripped apart at the base the first time we used it.

Bought this for a trip to Hilton Head, unboxed at the airport, checked at the gate. Upon arrival in Hilton Head, the bag was already ripped. The material is flimsy. On our return trip home, we found more rips upon arrival. My husband and I decided to splurge on a thicker one for our next family trip.

I used this to gate check and also check my car seat. bag held up. Also, easy to get back into the attached bag so it can be stored easily.

Light to carry but material is strong, easy to fold back into pouch, when carrying with car seat in bag, the drawstring cinch sometimes loosens so I put a knot in string after tightening to keep it from slipping.

It's lightweight and fits over my maxi cosi Magellan. I was able to grab the handle and lift it. Good for keeping baggage dirt off car seat, but in no way protects against dings.

The gate travel bag size is good and I like that you can pack it and store it in the attached pocket but wish the material was a little thicker

We bought this for a trip last month. It ripped by the time we got to our destination (only 1 flight too) and then the pull string broke and the bag ripped in another place while on flight. Threw it in the trash. Waste of money
