I'd give this product a 5-star rating if not for the horrible instructions. DO NOT BE IN A RUSH to assemble this product. It took sending back a damaged unit (due to poorly written/pictured instructions) and re-ordering a new one to have it work properly. However, once assembled and installed properly it works beautifully. But, I also have to say it was purchased for my 20-lb dog that lost his sight very suddenly and in order to keep him from falling off the bed. Fits perfectly for a double-bed that has a night table next to it, as this railing extends the length of the bed (from the night table to the foot of the bed). My dog leans up against it every night for support, he loves it. I would think it would be sufficient for young children as well, as it firmly locks into place. I've only had this for a week, so not sure how the locking mechanism will stand up over time. For the price, it can't be beat and gets the job done, and yes, it easily stows away nicely out of sight.
I was a bit disappointed to find out that even though this item is advertised as a 56" extra long, the box is clearly marked 54" extra long. May not be a big deal but when you put the item under a standard size mattress, the height of the rail is quite short also at 20". If you are looking for the best bed rail, search for the one that clearly states: EXTRA LONG AND EXTRA TALL. I finally found one (on the internet) that was 22" tall and 56" long. Now I can rest comfortably knowing my kids will not roll off the bed!

The railing itself was a pain to get situated on a twin bed and I’m not a fan of it coming off the track when putting it under the mattress. However, it does the job and helps keep my toddler in bed.

I ordered this bc i thought it would be a good idea and would make my life easier but NOT AT ALL!! It’s horrible, gets stuck, some pieces came broke, i tried to returned it but they said it was no posible idk why??? So now my money and this thing are on the trash. DO NOT BUY IT BC IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM YOU WONT BE ABLE TO RETURN IT OR HAVE UR MONEY BACK! Careful!!!!

Sturdy and safe. The rail guard does the job its intended to. My son climbs over it daily and it stays in place I would purchase again!

Flimsy and cheap. Broke trying to use the “hideaway” feature. After placing it under our mattress, we tested the locking mechanism which worked fine. However, when attempting to use the hideaway feature, the slide bars would not allow the rail bars to slide between the mattress as instructed. Instead they both bent and warped with minimal pressure at the points where they’d hold the rail in an upright position. I’d avoid this one unless you want a toddler rail that stays up all the time. If so, there are cheaper options than this one.

Nice and sturdy and easy to assemble.
I like the extra long length, and I like that it collapses down, although it does not clear my floor so it sticks out a little, but no problem. Would buy again if needed
