First I want to say I am not discrediting any other reviewer out there that had issues with their bassinet, but I want to write this for anyone who is scared by reading negative reviews. I was so anxious for my 3rd child and was looking for the best/safest bassinet on the market! I was extremely worried when I read reviews of babies rolling and flimsy mattresses for this bassinet! I did extensive research on many products and there seemed to be a negative review for everything! After talking with many experienced moms (who owned a halo) and researching this bassinet I decided to go for it. I even had a back up bassinet in my Amazon cart in case I had any issues (did I already say I was paranoid?!) I was SO nervous about getting one that was tilted and not level. As soon as I received my bassinet, I had My father who has been in contracting/building work for 30 plus years inspect it. We used a leveling tool and could see it was almost perfectly level. I was so relieved!!! I inspected the bassinet and emailed customer service about a few things I “noticed” with pictures and I was assured they were all standard with the bassinet (they were very prompt in response). The bassinet may look slanted to the eye but that is only due to the design of the top part that bends for easy access to baby. Compared to other bassinets I’ve used this one is so much more modern and convenient. It literally feels like your baby is laying next to you! It is so easy to pop the pacifier back in or rub your baby or even check for breathing motions (we all do that!). My baby slept well in this bassinet (currently almost 3 months and sleeps 5-7 hours straight at night). Area of improvement: there definitely is a small space between the mattress and the mesh side. You could push your mattress over to fill it on one side or keep it smaller oh both sides. My baby has never come close to even fitting in that space nor do I personally find it dangerous (shocking I find everything dangerous). However to ease our minds, close the gap! The mattress was okay. I purchased the organic one which was bigger and firmer, it’s expensive but I would recommend. They should sell that mattress with it for what they are charging. They should also make it longer! Babies are being born bigger and longer these days and my not even 3 month old is growing out of it. She was a bigger/longer baby. My baby has never rolled over or ever smushed up against a side-thank goodness. I hope this helps!
