I bought this filter because my friend has severe allergies and she showed me how much dust this can catch! I couldn't believe it. I didn't get it right away because I wasn't sure if the investment was worth the money. I wish I had this air cleaner years ago. Sure is the best and catches so much dirt. The only downside is the air return comes out of the back, so the air cleaner cannot go against the wall. I keep this filter in my room running at night. I sleep better than I use to and I am noticeably less stuff in the morning.

I bought it March 2018, and it was a wonderful for months. But nine months later, the fan motor makes a horrible amount of noise at the highest settings. Even new, I had to move it across the room, as on a wood floor, the thrumming was unpleasant. I clean it regularly (easy!), so that is not the issue. It eventually developed a whine, and now it sounds like a car engine. It's bearable at setting 3, but I'm annoyed at the 'not built to last' design. I expected this kind of product to perform well for years. Other than that, the blue LEDs are way too bright for a bedroom — why didn't they make them red?! The optional UV light will throw off one's circadian rhythm for sure!

I wanted this for the noise like a sound machine to sleep by, but should have looked at other reviews because they did say all of a sudden it makes a roaring sound when it's up to number four or number five so I turn it to number three for no noise but it defeats the purpose.
