As a first-time mom, I was a little paranoid about when it's best to start feeding my baby solids. Thanks to my mother, she purchased my four months old his first Gerber oatmeal cereal. As his first feeding I mix 1 tbsp of 1st step Gerber applesauce and 1 tbsp of Gerber oatmeal cereal with some of my breast milk to a consensus comfortable giving my baby. I must say, Sebastian LOVES this for breakfast right along with 5 1/2 ounces of milk. Now, we're trying other Gerber 1st step fruit to mix into his oatmeal cereal in the morning for breakfast :)
I bought this thinking it was the same stuff as the old one...it’s not!!! That oat cereal was literally the only substantial thing he would eat (beyond picky eater) and he gags at this stuff. I guess it’s a good product though but doesn’t taste as good as the old one.

I use oatmeal in my sons bottles to prevent spit ups and he loves it much more than rice cereal! It’s flavorful and helps him poop!!

This is the cereal that started our FPIES journey. Since it has both oat and wheat, we are unable to have either grain. It is not a good first cereal since it is not a single grain cereal. Please be cautioned and I would try a different cereal when fist introducing grains. It has been so hard to not be able to feed oat or wheat to our kiddo since he had a reaction to this cereal. Please consider changing the name to not be single grain as it is so misleading.

You can put a little into the bottle to make your little one be full a little longer and also you wouldn't have r to worry about making a mess. It can be easily stored once open.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves this cereal and I love that it has the nutrients she needs to thrive while being SUPER easy for this overwhelmed mom of two to prepare. It’s great that she still gets my comforting nutritious milk with an extra punch of iron an other vitamins from the cereal all while practicing for solid foods. The cereal does not have much flavor but has been great for introducing the texture of first foods without overwhelming her with sour or bitter flavors. As she becomes more comfortable, I’ve even mixed purées to slowly introduce new foods by pairing it with something very familiar.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter has trouble with textures and this oatmeal has allowed me to thicken her baby food. She isn’t quite ready to jump to solids so this allows me to have her practice. She didn’t like it at first but after a couple feedings she got used to it.

It easy to use and put away. I wish they would have ones that are already mixed with dried fruit in it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I tell you this has been a lifesaver for me during feeding time. I noticed that the milk wasn't holding him. So I started making the Gerber - Oatmeal Single Grain Cereal with fruit and my son loves it. When it's feeding time he gets so excited and I'm so happy that after he eats the oatmeal is full.
