Fridababy® 5-Piece Pacifier Weaning System

This system worked amazing and haf my daughter off of her paci in a week.

So, I have a 26 month old who only really used a pacifier for nap and bedtime. It was definitely a requirement for my child or she would start a tantrum. Surprisingly, I was able to skip stage 1 pacifier and begin stage 2 for my child. She didn’t adjust quickly, however, I did not give into giving her the old pacifier back. Once she realized I was not giving, she settled for the stage 2 pacifier. It was not easy at all. I begin to start rocking her to sleep, singing, and playing lullabies. Something that I haven’t done since she was 6 months old. Each day a different stage pacifier was giving to my child besides stage 1 and 5. I would say it takes a lot of patience, and finding things to comfort your child such as, a blanket, toy, singing, lullabies, rocking, etc. so that the transition can not be as unpleasant. Don’t give up, this product is very helpful!

This weaning system really works! It says that it is for weaning from orthodontic paci’s only but my son doesn’t discriminate, so I gave it a try. My son is about 14 months at the time of using this system, and he is addicted to the paci. Naptimes, playtimes, all the time, the thing is hanging out of his mouth. We followed the instructions, and by stage 4 (day 6) he was over it. I tried to give him stage 5 and he just looked at it and threw it to the ground. For a few days after he would wake up in the morning crying for a pacifier and I would only offer the stage 5. The one thing I did was put all of his other pacifiers up and away. I didn’t want him to see them, and I didn’t want easy access to give in and give him one. I should’ve just thrown the pacifiers away, but I was concerned about what I would do if this system didn’t work. I know a few people said you can just cut the pacifiers, but I didn’t want to expose my son to possible choking hazards, and regular pacifiers are not meant to be cut. All in all, it took about a week and a half to kick the paci. Probably the best money I’ve spent on a baby product in awhile.

So.. I have a 21 month old baby girl! Who LOVESS her Nook! (Pacifier) and she will grab for it when she’s playing, bored, upset, tired, etc. basically alll the time! You get the picture! So a friend told me about this and I said well it’s worth a try!! At first my goal was to just make it so she used her Nook for bed and naps! But, I obviously knew if I bought this then this was it that the point of this is to loose the nook al together! Obviously using this “system” but giving her, her actual Nook at naps and bed would confuse her! So I decided I’ll give it a try and maybe by some miracle I’ll get her off the nook for good! Well here was the biggest problem…you’re cutting up the nook (again pacifier)… so the baby obviously can’t suck it properly (well mine couldn’t) and she would have to basically “bite” the tip and this made her VERY MAD when she was napping or trying to fall asleep!! She wanted to suck for comfort and honestly I don’t blame her!! During the day she was fine! She kinda liked it lol but it was a MAJOR issue for naps and bed time! But I figured just hold out the most this will go on for is a week, right?! WRONG!! She SCREAMED AND SCREAMED every. Single. Nap. And every. Single. Night. For each day. We just gave up! I was sleep deprived she was peed off and sleep deprived as well! And honestly I just realized she’s not ready! I’m not going to push her! Yeah issues with her teeth alignment is a possibility! But my mom screwed up big time and let me use my nook until 3 and 1/2 almost 4 years old!!! And I never need braces! Not as a teen nor as an adult! So idk! I’m not so convinced that using a nook means you’re doomed to have issues with your teeth! Regardless I will not be letting her keep it as long as my mom let me keep mine! But I will be waiting several more months until we attempt to lose it again! But I DEFINITELY will NOT be using this “system” again!! And I’m sorry but I just can’t recommend it to others I know, knowing the NIGHTMARE it created for us! AMAZING idea! Poor execution! Sorry!!

This system didn’t work for my Granddaughter, but she is older and I’m sure that contributed to the failure.

This is a great idea, unfortunately, it didn’t work for our son. I still have it 3 stars because i know it has worked for some (2 mom friends swear by it). Just know it’s not for everyone. He hated the first stage pacifier and refused to take it. In a sense it helped, because most of the time we didn’t offer his usual in place of it, but the crying/tantrums were there. We tried putting both in his crib at night in hopes he would find this one when he lost the other and it was not good at all. For our sanity, we just gave him his regular one. For reference, he pretty much only used the mam pacifiers.

Our 9 month old is a great Sleeper now, but will scream in the middle of the night if he wakes and can't find his pacifier. Once he gets it, he goes right back to sleep. We got this weaning system to break him of needing the paci to sleep and figured it would be easy. He doesn't care about his pacifier at any other time and has had a variety of shapes and brands since we were gifted quite a few. He took the #1 for literally seconds before spitting it out. If we give it to him during the day to try and get used to it, he'll suck on it once and spit it back out. So far we're three days in just trying to get him to take it. Forget about trying to get him to sleep with it! I really wanted this product to work for us, but unfortunately it did not.

My paci-addicted 2 year old is now not even talking about her paci, just 6 days after starting with the Frida baby weaning pacifiers. If you follow the directions, it really can work. I was skeptical because she uses MAM pacifiers, but she didn’t even care that it was different. And she didn’t say anything about the nipple getting smaller as the days going on — she just ended up not caring about the paci anymore. Success!
