Fisher-Price® Deluxe Newborn Auto Rock 'n Play™ Sleeper in Safari Dreams

The sleeper itself was great. My 3 month old son would sleep in it almost through the whole night when at grandma's house. The rocker wasn't the speed my son enjoys. So we return it. I would recommend if you are traveling and don't have a crib.

I definitely would NOT recommend this product. Firstly, its extremely loud and secondly, it stopped working only after 3 months with minimal use.

It breaks my heart to have to give this once-beloved item one star but knowing what I know now I would have never purchased one. When we were expecting, everyone said “you must have a rock n play, baby will love being all snuggled up and will sleep like an angel”. Well, baby certainly did. I would brag to friends about what an incredible sleepy newborn I had. Sleeping through the night and giving us some much needed sleep. We also thought it was helpful for our baby’s reflux being in a semi-reclined position (only later to learn it likely exacerbated the problem). By about 6 weeks I started noticing that my son’s head was flattening at the back, widening at the sides and forming an upward slope toward the crown of his head. I didn’t understand why his head wasn’t rounding out, thinking maybe it just needed more time. By our 2 month pediatrician appointment, our doctor diagnosed our son with Brachycephaly (flat head). I was devastated. It quickly occurred to me that it was due to where he had been sleeping (in the rock n play). He didn’t spend much time on the back of his head other than to sleep and after an exhaustive search online and in new parent forums, I soon learned I was not alone - he had gotten flat head from the rock n play. Many other parents had stated that their child too was experiencing “rock n play head”. In fact, approximately 50% of 2 month olds experience flathead due to back sleeping, many of whom I would bet are using this best seller. I later learned that by restricting movement during sleep (which of course is great for keeping babies sleeping), the soft insert is doubly dangerous since it REALLY keeps them positioned in one direction, looking forward applying pressure all night to the center of the back of baby’s skull. If your child favors one side they will be at risk for Plagiocephaly (flattening of one side of the head, which can cause facial asymmetry among other issues). We are now faced with having to helmet our child and are going for weekly physical therapy appointments to try to correct the damage from the rock n play. Our physical therapist admitted that the rock n play is keeping her in business. It’s important to note that not all babies will experience flatheadedness from the rock n play, as we have had friends swear by this product, but some absolutely will. If you are expecting your first child and looking for reviews on the best place to sleep baby, I highly highly recommend doing your research on preventing flat head and choosing a safer alternative. This device is much better used in moderation during the day as a lounger than a place to sleep. I urge Fischer Price to change the marketing of this “essential” baby gear to a ‘lounger’ vs as ‘sleeper’ and to save others the heartache we are experiencing. Do your research. I wish I had known this beforehand as preventing flathead is infinitely easier than trying to correct it.

I could not have survived 0-3 months without this product! Helped my baby to fall asleep and stay asleep without waking themselves up. I seriously don't know how people live without it. I recommend it to everyone I know. The only downfall is that I accidentally tried to push it on carpet and the motor got a little wonky. Made a slight sound when rocking. I am sure I could have contacted the company for a replacement and it wasn't so inconvenient that I didn't want to use it anymore.

Only used for approximately 1 month and all of a sudden the motor just went out. VERY upset as these expensive items should last us way longer than that. It's not like I excessively used it either. When it worked we loved it. However, DO NOT waste your money buying something that will only work for a few weeks. I messaged Fisher Price customer service. Waiting for a response but I highly doubt anything will be done especially since the item was purchased 3 months ago.

My daughter loves to sleep in this! It’s very cozy. The rocker is very loud, not sure if that’s normal or broken but you can barely hear the music over he noise. So we don’t use the machine part of it.

Baby is so relaxed. Can use it after feeding bc of incline. Downside - motor makes a lot of noise
