Chicco® SmartSupport Backpack Baby Carrier in Grey

This backpack is great for going on family hikes and was easy to assemble. Our son was 7.5 months and about 20 pounds when we started using it. Because its winter, he has to be very bundled up when he’s in there so it’s even harder to buckle the already difficult straps. I’m also not sure my husband or I would be successful trying to use this without the other one to help get it on, but you might be more confident than we are. Once my son was in, he was cozy enough to take a nap and barely made a beep. My only criticisms are the buckle and I wish the sun visor offered more coverage.

My gift was supposed to be wrapped, but it was not. :o(

I really wanted to love this carrier, but unfortunately I do not. It is heavy on my back and difficult to get my 1.5 year old in and out of. It’s also too big to pack in a suitcase and bring on a vacation. Maybe it would work better for other people, just doesn’t work for me and what I planned to use it for.

The shoulder straps are not thick enough so they cut into your shoulder. Needless to say, I returned it

Good gift for our son in law bday. He will love carrying his little girl on his back. Delivered quickly and light weight.

My Husband used this carrier and this is his review. We did a practice walk around our neighborhood and learned how to adjust the seat to be raised and more comfortable for our son. First day hike our 17 month 25Ib son was very comfortable(even took a nap), we hiked 5 miles and the 2nd day we hiked 4 miles. We went over some steep terrain and my son was very secure with the 5 point harness. I was able to adjust the carrier so that the back support was where I needed it also the shoulder straps by using the chest strap really helped. The carrier and frame was constructed very well considering it only weighs 6Ibs. I really do love this carrier and can’t wait to go hiking again. If I had to give one negative comment and I don’t even think it’s negative is that I wish it had some pockets somewhere. Maybe on the waist strap so I can carry small items. I’m also going to Try to figure out how to strap on a camel pack on it.

I have had this product for a few weeks now and have been using it several times a week. We had been going for long walks/hikes with baby in a stroller. That got old fast. The trail has steep grades and many crevices, pits, making it difficult to navigate a stroller. This backpack makes life so much easier! It stands up on its own which helps to get baby into it easily. And the straps accommodate both me (5’3) and my bf who is 6’0. The seat seems to be comfortable for our baby and she enjoys being able to watch the scenery as we walk. Sometimes she ends up falling asleep! The only downside is that the belt clips are way down in the seat making it a little difficult to fasten them and unclip them. That is a very minor drawback, though.

Very light weight and easy to store. Love it!
