The unthinkable happened. I had my two babies in the car. My 2 1/2 year old was forward facing in his chicco nextfit and my 6 month old in her chicco keyfit. A car came out of nowhere in front of us and we crashed into them. Our airbags deployed and our truck was totaled. Our babies however, were unscathed. Before, I bought chicco because they were soft and incredibly comfortable. I liked the ease of use with them and their excellent reviews. Now, I am buying two new chicco car seats because I know they will keep my children safe.
The “EPS” foam underneath the fabric of the headrest can crack where the foam curves. Once this happens, Chicco does NOT recommend using the seat anymore, and cannot/will not replace the foam. So if you have no expectation of the seat lasting through its expiration date and want to spend hundreds on a new seat when one little piece of foam breaks, then this is the best seat for you.

I purchased 2 of these carseats, both have given trouble and do not lock when the child is in the carseat.The chest protector also has been inoperable at times.

Pros: Bought this based off Consumer Reports’ top safety rating. I like that the top is easy to unzip for washing. Easy, quick to install. Cons: I do not like that the materials are not Green Guard Gold certified, which is why I deducted a star- it was also difficult to find out this information.

Easy to install, comfortable for my boy, and seems really safe. The only I would give it 5 stars if it were slightly less bulky and if it has those tabs to slide the buckle into to hold.the straps open!!

As a career nanny for 12 years, I have used a LOT of different car seats over the years and this one is hands down my absolute favorite. It is easy to install, take out (compared to other car seats), clean, dry, and tighten straps properly. The easy installation was #1 to me, but I also liked that I did not have to take out the entire seat and rethread the straps in order to clean the seat material. Was used for 7 month old through 5 year old. Would absolutely recommend!

I read a TON of reviews when searching for a convertible car seat. This seat seemed to overall be favorable and we mostly enjoyed our infant seat from Chicco (Keyfit 35). We’ve been using the Nextfit zip for 6 months.. here are my pros and cons: Pros: Zip off feature is super easy to clean, feels like a very sturdy seat, love the head support, easy to adjust straps Cons: Fabric is snagging/pilling near the legs, sides are way too high which makes loading nearly impossible, nothing to hold the straps/crotch buckle out of the way, baby doesn’t look very comfortable I wish we would’ve gone with a different seat because the cons outweigh the pros for us and quite frankly, I don’t enjoy using it and wouldn’t recommend it.

Great product, easy to install and got it at acompetitive price.
Car seat sides are very high making in and out difficult. I think the one I got is defective as one shoulder strap is twisted. Thirdly - the buckle is very difficult to open - on more than one occasion I had to call my husband to get toddler out of the seat!. Maybe I got a lemon? Will see if Chicco stands behind it's warranty.

Well my daughter loves it and that’s all that really matters to me. After she had a surgery in her right arm I needed the most confortable car seat and this is the best option.
