Chicco® Fit4® Adapt 4-in-1 Convertible Car Seat in Ember

The item itself is great, but BBB sent one that was opened in the box and used which is not acceptable with carseats when this history is not known. They did correct this and provide a new one, but unfortunately this should have never happened in the first place.

Our son is almost a month old now and has loved this seat from day one! I do agree with other reviews about the stage 2 padding trapping crumbs, but it won't be an issue for us because we have crazy big kids and he'll be past stage 2 before he can eat in the car. It's sturdy, easy to install, and super comfortable. Highly recommend!

Overall we really like this car seat. Our son seems very comfortable and enjoys it. However, I have two specific things others should be aware of: First, we noticed the straps are very difficult to loosen. I’ve found if you can pull them straight out and away from your baby’s chest, rather than a downward angle, it helps. Second, the stage 2 layer needs some work. It’s not very soft, and does leave circular imprints on our son’s skin, but it doesn’t seem to bother him. However, cleaning it is extremely annoying. It has layers of holes or netting, so getting crumbs out is so so difficult, I ended up just giving up. I’m hoping it doesn’t start to smell over time with trapped food. Even though we like the car seat, for that fabric alone we would not purchase it again.

I LOVE this car seat. It was easy to install and I never have to worry about getting another one. It seems super comfy for my baby, and also super secure. Very happy with the purchase.

The adaptative fabric has a bad finish all around it, where the threads stick the child. My daughter cries all the time and can't sleep using it.

Really great car seat. Have purchased many Chicco products. The straps are really hard to loosen because the button is in an awkward place when the seat is facing backwards. Hopefully they will loosen up after some use. Still love the seat. So does my 8 month old granddaughter. Would recommend.

So far, so great. Using at stage 2 and it's nearly perfect. The straps take a couple days to get used to as they're somewhat difficult to loosen until you get the hang of it. Now I appreciate how secure they feel. We use it in a compact SUV and have no trouble getting our 11 month old in and out. He seems super comfortable and thrilled with the upgrade from an infant car seat.

I would not buy a Chicco product again based on this seat and a previous one I owned. The first one pilled so I chose the mesh, which leaves marks on my daughters legs. If you get this one make sure that you are familiar with the removal of the layers. I thought I knew having the previous model, but when push came to shove and she vomited while I was driving, I was unable to easily remove the buckle cover and while my crying child was screaming for me to hold her, I was trying desperately to get the buckle cover off... Finally resorting to ripping it to get it off. I tried to get a replacement from customer service, but there is none, and none on the horizon for shipping.. Although Kelly tried to understand me, it just took a lot of explaining. It is just a huge disappointment that after spending almost $400 a part is not replaceable, even for a fee. Also as the previous reviewer said, it is very very difficult to adjust the straps and loosen them, once the seat is in place. I needed to loosen the buckle attaching it to my backseat to get at the orange button to loosen them. Find a different car seat
