The year was 1990, when New York-based OXO began to manufacture kitchen utensils, offices supplies, and housewares. The business is inspired by the philosophy of Universal Design, which means the design of products usable by as many people as possible. The founder’s wife suffered from mild arthritis and had difficulty gripping ordinary kitchen tools; this was the impetus to create more comfortable cooking tools and thus a business was launched. The company continues to provide innovative consumer products that make everyday living easier and markets goods under multiple brands; the OXO tot® line offers parents thoughtful products that help guide, nurture and care for their little ones. Specifically designed to address the needs of babies and toddlers, the product line includes baby feeding solutions, baby and toddler bath and potty solutions, baby seating and safety solutions, food storage solutions and more.
