The Spanish company Lladró was founded by three brothers in 1953; the fine ceramic and porcelain producer is best known for its elegant porcelain figurines which feature a signature sculptural style enhanced with proprietary glazes. In 1967 the brothers went on to buy a small porcelain factory to create another new style of porcelain; they collaborated with local artists to create unique figurines full of charm and innocence in a collection called Nao® by Lladró. The name is borrowed from the old sailing boats from the days of Columbus and symbolizes a return journey to origins, conveying creativity, skill and magic. The Lladró brothers dreamed of making porcelain figurines affordable for lovers of beauty with the collection of porcelain keepsake mother and child figurines, new baby figurines, angel figurines and inspirational figurines; the hand-crafted figurines commemorate life's meaningful milestones and magical moments.
