Dr. Seuss

Born on March 2, 1904, Theodor Seuss Geisel is known to readers as Dr. Seuss, the American writer and cartoonist who published multiple children’s books filled with imaginative characters, engaging illustrations, word play and rhyme. Inspired by a study that concluded children were not learning to read because their books were boring, Geisel worked with list of words identified as important for first-graders to recognize and incorporated them into the iconic children’s book The Cat in the Hat. The renowned children’s author’s work inspired the adoption of his birthday as the annual date for National Read Across America Day, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. Share the gift of reading with your little one; the many Dr. Seuss titles are available in child-friendly hardcover, board book, story book and picture book format along with book-inspired learning cards designed to engage and delight young readers.
